A disgruntled Uber driver told parking rangers he hoped they both got cancer after they fined him for parking in a no stopping zone in Sydney’s south.
Akbar Shirkarami, 26, was using his phone to arrange transport for passengers at Sydney International Airport while stopped on Rockwell Ave in Wolli Creek when he was photographed by Bayside Council rangers in the no stopping area.
Magistrate Hugh Donnelly at Sutherland Local Court imposed a $200 fine after it was heard Shirkarami had become aggressive with the rangers as they issued the fine.
“The driver aggressively said ‘I’ve already got five fines during the year, you should have told me to move it on,” the rangers wrote in documents tendered to the court.
“The driver came out of the vehicle and said ‘I wish you both get a cancer’.”
The Glebe man pleaded guilty to the charge.
