A furious concreter called a council rubbish collector a “f***ing c***” and threatened to beat her up after throwing a can at her feet and saying it was her job to clean it up.

Spiro Kapandritis left the female Georges River Council employee so traumatised she was unable to return to work after he cornered her in a Kingsgrove laneway and threatened her.

The terrifying incident began after Kapandritis threw a can of Coke out his ute window.

“The victim, who was collecting rubbish nearby for Georges River Council, saw this and walked over, collecting the rubbish, saying ‘thanks for that’,” the agreed police facts said.

“The accused said from inside the ute ‘you f***ing c***, it’s your f***ing job, scumbag’.”

Kapandritis pleaded guilty at Sutherland Local Court to intimidation intending to cause fear and was sentenced to a 12-month community corrections order with a $1000 fine by Magistrate Michael Connell.

Police facts stated the council employee “appeared distressed” in CCTV footage of the alarming attack, which shows Kapandritis with his arms raised toward the woman.

“The accused exited the ute and followed the victim down the laneway,” the facts stated.

“The accused got in the face of the victim and yelled ‘I’ll beat the s*** out of you if you take a photo of my car’.”

Police said Kapandritis’ actions terrified the victim, who was unable to call for help due to feeling so scared.

The court heard the Marrickville man had a history of violence which included threatening phone calls, domestic violence, malicious damage and extortion.

He has also been the subject of several apprehended violence orders in the past.
