An unwelcome Easter visitor has devastated a Sydney football club by breaking into their change rooms and bouncing off with their gear.

St George Football Club attended their home ground at Bestic St in Rockdale on Easter Sunday to discover their change rooms had been broken into.

A flat screen television used to review games, all women’s match balls, training bibs, sporting attire and power tools used for repairs were all stolen.

Even the hand soap dispensers were stolen before the perpetrators forced their way into the canteen and stole the cash register and canteen stock, leaving it completely trashed.

“The SGFC family came together to clean up the mess for today’s games,” a SGFC spokeswoman said.

“The local community, particularly the football community have been incredibly supportive and we would like to thank everyone for their support.”

Anyone with information about the alleged theft is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or nsw.crimestoppers.com.au.

“We hope that you understand that the football community is competitive but off the pitch it is a village made up of mutual respect and shared vision,” the club posted on Facebook.

“We would kindly ask that if any of our football community is approached to purchase any such items or see them advertised for a quick buck that you contact our club or Crime Stoppers.”
