Sharks Leagues Club: Woolooware Bay Town Centre application submitted

The first sneak peek into the $234 million plans for the Sharks Leagues Club and Woolooware Bay Town Centre have been revealed after Sutherland Shire Council received a development application for the first stage.

An application to transform the Sharks Leagues Club into the Woolooware Bay Town Centre worth almost $234 million has been received by Sutherland Shire Council.

The mixed residential and commercial proposal on Captain Cook Dr is the first stage of the planned precinct and will include a partial demolition of the existing leagues club and associated structures.

Woolooware Bay’s retail precinct will provide the area with its first supermarket, specialty fresh food retailers, fashion, and a host of key lifestyle and sports medical facilities.

It will also include tree removal, a new retail centre, and the third and fourth levels for the new leagues club.

Four residential apartment blocks including 255 homes, a hotel, office tenancies, a childcare centre, above-ground and landscaping are also part of the proposal.

The total estimated cost is $233,644,000.

Documents with further details will be published in the coming weeks ahead of a notification and submission period where local residents can have their say on the proposal.

Woolooware Bay has undergone a total transformation in recent years with hundreds of new apartments soaring up next door to the Sharks’ home turf.
