Police want to speak to a man captured on CCTV after a theatrically bloody murder attempt in the middle of the night at a home unit in Sydney’s south.
At 4am on January 11 a 24-year-old man suffering stab wounds arrived at St George Hospital in a critical condition.
Police investigations indicate the man was stabbed multiple times at a unit complex on Bay St in Brighton Le Sands before he drove himself to hospital.
Shocking crime scene images show a bloody handprint on a unit door and blood splattered all over the walls and doors after the grisly attack.
Officers from St George police have formed Strike Force Alawai to investigate the bizarre incident and have now released images of a man they wish to speak to in relation to their inquiries.
The man sought by investigators is of Mediterranean or Middle Eastern appearance, 175cm tall, of a large build with black hair, a beard and brown eyes.
