Sitting MP Steve Kamper grew up locally in Sans Souci and has spent his entire life living and working in Rockdale. He was a senior partner in local firm Kamper Chartered Accountants before his election to Parliament in 2015.

Mr Kamper also set up a NSW industry-based income protection and work cover top-up scheme in 1994 designed to protect the welfare of injured workers, and is a former President of Sydney Olympic Soccer Club during the last year of the National Soccer League.

Mr Kamper said his priorities were delivering upgrades for St George Hospital over the next four years, and delivering ongoing funding for capital works in local schools.

Significant wins during Mr Kamper’s tenure included the expansion of Kyeemagh Infants School from K-2 to K-6, stopping the sale of the former Cairnsfoot School site at Turrella for development and the conversion of Primrose House into a school at Dolls Point.

Mr Kamper also said development and planning needed better balance as Bayside Council was slated to deliver more than 10,000 new dwellings by 2021.

SAMIR HASSAN – LIBERAL
