People from Caringbah to Como will head to the polls this Saturday to choose their representative for Miranda at the NSW State Election.
Sitting Miranda state Liberal MP Eleni Petinos will take on five other candidates at this Saturday’s NSW State Election.
ELENI PETINOS – LIBERAL
Sitting MP Eleni Petinos is a lifelong Sutherland Shire resident who currently lives in Gymea. Ms Petinos previously worked in taxation and holds a Bachelor of Jurisprudence and Bachelor of Laws from UNSW, as well as a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice.
Ms Petinos has been in parliament since 2015 and has since served as the Chair of the Legislative Assembly Committee on Transport and Infrastructure.
Ms Petinos said her priorities were delivering the first stage of the F6 motorway, upgrading capacity on the T4 Eastern Suburbs and Illawarra Line and building a commuter car park at Jannali station.
The Liberal Party will also double the Active Kids Rebate to $200 per school-aged child and provide energy rebates for self-funded retirees, while committing to an $81.5 million Sutherland Hospital expansion and provide more nurses and midwives.
JEN ARMSTRONG – LABOR
Labor candidate Jen Armstrong is a local mother and a foster parent of three. Ms Armstrong was the 2016 NSW Woman of the Year after she was recognised for her advocacy work for victims of domestic violence.
Ms Armstrong said she would work to deliver quality health and education systems in the Shire to make it a better place to live, work and raise a family.
NATHAN HUNT – GREENS
Greens candidate Nathan Hunt lives in the Sutherland Shire and is a convener of the Sutherland Greens. His priorities include climate action, renewable energy, tackling political corruption and creating stronger communities.
