The Penshurst man underwent a roadside breath test after Highway Patrol officers found him at the wheel of a BMW on Junction St, before a subsequent breath analysis at Hurstville police station allegedly returned an eye-watering result of 0.351.

Gabra’s licence was suspended on the spot and he faced Sutherland Local Court on Tuesday, where he pleaded not guilty to the charge through his solicitor.

He will return to court on October 27 to set a date for a hearing before the magistrate.

Defendants currently seeking hearings at Sutherland Local Court are required to wait until a super-callover on October 27 as the court works to reschedule hearings which were cancelled during the height of the coronavirus pandemic.

Gabra appeared relaxed during his brief appearance in court along with a female supporter.
