Man dies at Fitness First Sylvania
A man has tragically died during an afternoon session at a southern Sydney gym, after he was found unconscious in the gym’s swimming pool.

A man has tragically died after he was found unconscious in a southern Sydney gym’s swimming pool on Tuesday afternoon.
A NSW Police spokeswoman confirmed emergency services had rushed to Fitness First in Sylvania in Sydney’s Sutherland Shire at about 5pm.
“Emergency services were called to a fitness centre in Sylvania following reports an unconscious man was removed from the pool,” the spokeswoman said.
“Despite their best efforts he was unable to be revived.”
The man’s identity is yet to be confirmed but he is believed to be in his late 50s.
Sutherland Shire police established a crime scene and inquiries are continuing but the man’s sudden death is not thought to be suspicious.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
Gym members were unable to access facilities this afternoon as emergency services rushed to the man’s aid.
