A man who allegedly threatened three shop attendants with a firearm and stole several sums of cash has been arrested following a shocking four-hour spree through Sydney’s south yesterday.

The alleged robbery spree began when the 27-year-old man bought a case of beer at a Forest Rd bottle shop in Peakhurst at 5.30pm yesterday.

When the store clerk put the case in the car and asked for payment, the man allegedly produced a firearm and demanded cash from the till.

He allegedly fled with a sum of money before the store clerk notified police.

Just 20 minutes later the man allegedly burst into a Narwee convenience store on the corner of Hannan and Penshurst Rds, threatening the attendant with a firearm and demanding money.

He was given money and fled again before police were notified and established a crime scene.

At 9.45pm the man allegedly struck a third time at a Bryant St service station in Narwee, allegedly robbing the store of a sum of money before he drove away in the white ute.

Police then arrested the 27-year-old man in a carpark on George St in Mortdale, where a search of his white Holden Colorado allegedly uncovered two firearms - a sawn-off air rifle and a second rifle - along with ammunition and the cash, which was the alleged proceeds from the three alleged robberies earlier that day.

The man will face Sutherland Local Court today charged with three counts of armed robbery, possessing a shortened firearm and possessing an unregistered firearm.
