Kurnell body: Westpac chopper at Cape Solander after body found

An investigation has been launched after a man’s body was winched from the ocean at Cape Solander.

A body has been found floating in the ocean off Kurnell.

A report will be prepared for the coroner after the man’s body was found in the water near to the base of the cliffs at Cape Solander.

Emergency services were called just after 3pm today (Friday, February 21).

The Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter Lifesaver 21 was dispatched.

Crews found the body floating and winched the man’s body from the water.

He is yet to be formally identified.

Police from Sutherland Shire Police Area Police Command are conducting investigations.

A Westpac Helicopter spokesman said the body was found not far from the base of the cliffs.
