A teen was caught with 80 caps of MDMA after a wild night out in the city when police found his friend driving his car on the wrong side of the road in Sydney’s south.
Joshua Flynn, 18, was the passenger in his gold Commodore which his friend dumped on the side of the road in Partridge Ave, Miranda after police saw the vehicle driving directly towards them on the wrong side of President Ave at almost 1am on December 15.
When Flynn and his friend made a run for it towards Caringbah, police searched the car and located 80 MDMA pills weighing 13.1g in a plastic bag in the centre console.
A police dog was unable to find Flynn and his friend but in an interview 12 hours later with police Flynn made full admissions to possessing the drugs.
“(He said) the co-accused introduced the drug to him,” police facts stated.
“He had taken MDMA in the city and consumed an unknown amount of the drug.”
The Bangor teen will be sentenced for prohibited drug possession on April 2 at Sutherland Local Court upon the completion of a sentencing assessment report.
When he attended the station Flynn brought his friend and nominated him as the driver that night.
Flynn’s iPhone was seized as a police exhibit as officers believed it contained information which was “valuable” to the investigation.
Police facts indicate Flynn works as a labourer and he allegedly told officers he believes he suffers from drug abuse.
