A young man serving a community-based jail term over a horrific high speed car crash involving his mates has landed back in court after pinning a stranger down and spitting on him over a personal dispute in an RSL pokies room.

Jordan Henson, 23, was sentenced to an 18-month intensive corrections order in December 2018 when he was found guilty of dangerous driving while under the influence causing grievous bodily harm after slamming a Lexus into parked cars in Caringbah in April 2017.

The alcohol-fuelled crash caused utter carnage, with the ruined Lexus winding up on its roof, two cars belonging to one man written off, and Henson winding up in hospital along with two mates who were inside at the time.

While serving a community-based prison sentence for that incident Henson wound up on the wrong side of the law once more after a man named Peter Saville known only to his father antagonised him in the pokies room at Cronulla RSL in August 2019.

“The accused threw an unknown object at the victim, hitting his face, then grabbed him by the collar,” police facts stated.

“He has in a forceful motion pushed the victim to the ground, which caused the victim to land on his back with the accused positioned on top of him.”

Henson was convicted at Sutherland Local Court over the fight.

CCTV footage then shows Henson appearing to spit at Mr Saville before the club security intervened.

Magistrate Jayeann Carney at Sutherland Local Court sentenced Henson to a two-year community corrections order for offensive behaviour in a public place after Mr Saville refused to give police a statement or involve himself in any criminal investigation.

“(Henson) was able to accept his actions were inappropriate,” Ms Carney said.

“He said the victim had antagonised him until he snapped.”

Henson is currently out of work in anticipation of shoulder surgery for a serious physical injury.

A criminal record tendered to the court revealed he received a two-year gold behaviour bond for drug driving in October 2015, which was later converted to a $300 fine and a three-month disqualification after he was caught driving without P plates in February 2016.
