A wealthy party boy turned drug dealer stashed cocaine and MDMA in his bedroom at his parents’ luxury waterfront home along with steroids in the fridge, an extendible baton under the bed and cash in a Louis Vuitton box.
Personal trainer and party promoter James Mina, 23, has pleaded guilty to prohibited drug supply and drug possession after detectives found five times the indictable amount of cocaine in his room at his parents’ Sylvania Waters mansion on February 13.
Court documents reveal police found a smorgasbord of drugs and cash at his parents’ exclusive address before Mina was arrested in his Toyota HiLux in the Southgate Sylvania carpark.
“Investigators located six plastic bags of white powder suspected to be cocaine, five plastic bags of brown granules suspected to be MDMA, empty plastic bags, scales, spoons, scissors, and Glucodin commonly used as a cutting agent for cocaine,” police facts stated.
“They also located in the accused’s bedroom numerous other plastic bags containing unknown substances, an extendible baton, $2300 in a Louis Vuitton box, 105 Oxandrolone tablets and a box containing a variety of steroids.”
Just outside Mina’s bedroom police also found 20 vials of Somatropin human growth hormone in a fridge.
The raid ultimately uncovered 20.48g of cocaine, 4.32g of MDMA, 10.53g of anabolic steroid Oxandrolone, 1.68g of anabolic steroid Mesterolone, 0.78g of dexamphetamine and 21.7g of testosterone.
Mina spent a week behind bars after his arrest before his parents offered up a $1.2m investment property as security in exchange for his liberty.
He unlocked his phone for police, who subsequently found drug ledgers in his phone though court documents reveal at the time Mina said the drugs found at his home were for personal use.
Mina was set to fight the charges at a hearing but instead pleaded guilty to prohibited drug supply and prohibited drug possession.
The court will also consider seven other counts of prohibited drug possession as part of the sentencing proceedings at Sutherland Local Court on September 17.
Mina works as a personal trainer at Fitness First Rockdale but he also moonlights as a party promoter with his own company - MisdeMina.
“MisdeMina - a minor wrongdoing,” Mina wrote on his business page.
