The female driver involved in a horrifying fatal crash with a young Sydney police officer in January has died in hospital from her own injuries.
The 65-year-old Honda Civic driver hit NSW Police Force Constable Timothy Proctor head on as he returned from a training exercise on Heathcote Rd near Lucas Heights on January 31.
Two other cars were also struck in the crash but no-one else was significantly injured.
Constable Proctor, 29, saved three lives when his family donated his organs before he tragically died of his injuries.
His wife Dianne is currently pregnant with their child, who they refer to as Tim Jnr.
