May 1, 2018, was the beginning of everything for then-Probationary Constable Tim Proctor when he stood alongside 13 fellow recruits at Liverpool police station on his first day in the NSW Police Force.
The 29-year-old officer was embarking on his dream career and preparing to start a family with his young wife when he was tragically killed in a horrifying head-on car crash last week.
He was promoted to Constable by NSW Police Commissioner Mick Fuller in the final hours of his fight for life with his wife, Dianne, by his side before he succumbed to his injuries.
Constable Proctor was returning from a training exercise near Lucas Heights in Sydney’s south on January 31 when a 65-year-old female driver drifted onto the wrong side of Heathcote Rd and struck his car at high speed.
Commissioner Fuller said his thoughts were with Constable Proctor’s wife, family, friends and colleagues.
“Timothy was certainly well on the way to a wonderful policing career and was well respected by his colleagues and all who knew him,” Commissioner Fuller said.
“He joined the Police Force after being a volunteer firefighter and had a tremendous passion and commitment for all emergency services and the community.”
One of Constable Proctor’s colleagues posted a heartfelt tribute to their colleague on social media.
“All of us at Liverpool are going to miss seeing you around the station mate,” she wrote.
“You’ll always be remembered, fly high.”
