A man was allegedly driving at five times the legal limit in the Royal National Park when he was stopped by police. Police allege he returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.249.
A man was allegedly driving at five times the legal limit in the Royal National Park when he was stopped by police.
A 43-year-old Yagoona man was travelling in an unregistered Holden Commodore on Sir Bertram Stevens Dr at 12.20pm on March 31 when he was pulled over by St George Highway Patrol.
Police allege the man blew 0.249 at Sutherland police station and was charged with high range drink driving, driving with an expired licence and using an unregistered vehicle.
The man was also issued a suspension notice to prevent him from reapplying for his licence.

He will face Sutherland Local Court on May 2.
The Yagoona man is set to face Sutherland Local Court on Thursday 2 May 2019.
Traffic and Highway Patrol Assistant Commissioner Michael Corboy said drink drivers put themselves, their passengers, and other road users at great risk.
“In 2018 police conducted 5,531,251 random breath tests, charging 17,989 with drink driving,” A/Comm Corboy said.
“That’s an alarming number of people who have taken a selfish risk, risking not only their licence, but the safety of themselves, their family, and other members of the public.”
