Daniel Agnew: new sexual abuse charges against Sydney man
A Sydney man has been hit with new charges after a police investigation into grave allegations he sexually abused three young girls over several years.

A Sydney man accused of a six-year campaign of historical sexual abuse multiple against young girls has now been hit with additional charges.
Daniel Agnew, 61, was charged in May with 11 counts of sexual and indecent assault against three complainants in what police allege was a devastating years-long campaign of abuse across several Sydney suburbs and on the Gold Coast between 1997 and 2003.
He now faces three additional charges of aggravated indecent assault against a victim under his authority and one charge of aggravated sexual assault against a victim under 16.
His solicitor abandoned an earlier plan to apply for his bail and he remains in custody on remand.
Agnew will next face Parramatta Local Court for charge certification on October 22.
Three women previously told detectives harrowing details of Agnew’s alleged abuse, which police allege had drastically escalated as the years went by.
Police allege Agnew first touched Complainant A’s genitals at a St George home in 1997, before he allegedly sexually assaulted her when she was only 15 at a western Sydney address in 2002.
Agnew was charged with seven offences against Complainant B after he allegedly touched her genitals three times at addresses in western Sydney and Broadbeach on the Gold Coast.
Police will also allege he sexually assaulted Complainant B four times, also in western Sydney and Broadbeach between 1997 and 2003.
Complainant C told police Agnew had allegedly rubbed his genitals on her when she was 13 or 14 at an address in western Sydney in 2002.
The North Parramatta man has now spent four months behind bars on remand as the court process continues.
