Daniel Agnew charged with sexually assaulting teens
Police swooped on a man quarantining in a Sydney hotel after a recent overseas trip and charged him over a harrowing alleged campaign of indecent and sexual assaults on teenage girls.

A beloved family man is now behind bars on remand accused of a sickening six-year campaign of sexual abuse against young girls almost 20 years ago.
Daniel Agnew, 61, has been charged with 11 counts of sexual and indecent assault against three complainants in what police say was a devastating years-long campaign of abuse across several Sydney suburbs and on the Gold Coast between 1997 and 2003.
Three women told detectives harrowing details of Agnew’s alleged abuse, which police say had drastically escalated as the years went by.
Police allege Agnew first touched Complainant A’s genitals at a St George home in 1997, before he allegedly sexually assaulted her when she was only 15 at a western Sydney address in 2002.
Agnew was charged with seven offences against Complainant B after he allegedly touched her genitals three times at addresses in western Sydney and Broadbeach on the Gold Coast.
Police will also allege he sexually assaulted Complainant B four times, also in western Sydney and Broadbeach between 1997 and 2003.
Complainant C told police Agnew had allegedly rubbed his genitals on her when she was 13 or 14 at an address in western Sydney in 2002.
Following extensive investigations St George police arrested the North Parramatta man at a western Sydney hotel where he was in quarantine after a trip to the United Kingdom on May 9.
His solicitor withdrew an attempt to apply for bail at the Downing Centre Local Court on May 15 and Agnew is next to appear at Parramatta Local Court on July 9.
