It’s time to pour out your bee stings, because a sweaty era of sticky floors, bandage dresses and Thirsty Merc nightclub gigs has come to a tragic end with a Cronulla nightclub’s closure.
Sting Bar in Cronulla has now closed its doors for good, with the Kingsway nightclub site up for lease with Highland Commercial Property.
The nightclub was a popular stop on the Northies to Fusion route and may be the only venue in Australian history with the range to accommodate live performances from Thirsty Merc, Savage and Bag Raiders.
The house cocktail, appropriately named a bee sting, was a concoction of spiced rum, limes, honey and dry.
Two sites next to the former Sting Bar which previously accommodated a fast food takeaway shop and an apartment development showroom are also up for lease.
A Highland Commercial Property agent said the massive 370 sqm site still has a fully equipped restaurant kitchen and a full bar.
Well, I guess we’ll see ya at Fuuuuj.
