Clemton Park school sex abuse allegations prompt ex-teacher’s arrest
Alleged child sex offences at a southwest Sydney primary school have come to light more than 40 years since they allegedly occurred. A former teacher has been arrested at a home in Sydney’s south and is now being charged.
A teacher who allegedly sexually abused children at a southwest Sydney primary school in the early 1970s is now being charged after he was arrested at a southern Sydney home.
A 67-year-old man who taught at a Clemton Park primary school more than 40 years ago was arrested at a Woolooware home at 7.30am today after allegations were raised during the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Abuse.
Campsie detectives began an investigation in 2017 when the allegations of sexual abuse at the Clemton Park primary school in the early 1970s came to light.
Following extensive inquiries detectives arrested the man at his home, and he was taken to Sutherland police station where he is now being charged.
