A body has been pulled from the ocean near Sydney’s Royal National Park – but the search for a young man swept from a nearby tourist spot yesterday continues.

At 10.50am emergency services were called to Little Marley Beach near Bundeena after a man was seen floating in the water.

The man was winched from the water by helicopter but NSW Ambulance Paramedics were unable to revive him, before a small fishing vessel was found on the rocks near Bundeena.

Formal identification is not complete but police do not believe it is the same men swept off the rock ledge at Figure Eight Pools yesterday afternoon.

The Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter is still searching for the 22-year-old man who was dragged into the ocean by large swell at the popular tourist spot yesterday.

His friend, whose age is not known, was treated for minor lacerations after he was also swept off the rocks.

Three of their companions were not injured.

Police remain at Little Marley Beach conducting inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the man discovered today.
