Angela Weedon charged over alleged racist attacks at Telstra Miranda and on Sydney train

A woman who allegedly told a Sydney retail worker to “go home to China” has been charged as appalling new video emerges of a second vile racist incident involving an elderly woman on a Sydney train.

Racist attack on Sydney train

A woman has been charged after she allegedly told a Sydney retail worker to “go home to China” and hurled vile racist abuse at an elderly Asian woman on a train.

Angela Weedon, 38, was arrested at a Sutherland home after The Daily Telegraph published vision of a woman appearing to yell abusively at an Asian employee at the Telstra store in Westfield Miranda on Thursday.

New vision obtained today by The Daily Telegraph depicts a separate incident of a woman appearing to scream “you are not welcome here illegal, you and your biocontamination” and “can you even speak English, illegal?” as she pursues an elderly Chinese woman on a Sydney train.

“(Weedon) was taken to Sutherland police station and charged with two counts of offensive behaviour in a public place and two counts of stalking and intimidation to cause fear after she allegedly racially abused a woman on a train,” a NSW Police spokeswoman stated.

“She was granted bail to face court on June 25.”

In the sickening new footage the woman filming the elderly Chinese woman follows her through the train before allegedly continuing the racial abuse.

“Now immigration know who you are, and you’re out,” the woman says.

“You’re not welcome here, understand?”

The Australian Human Rights Commission Commissioner’s race discrimination commissioner Chin Tan said on Wednesday the commission had received increased reports of anti-Asian racism as the coronavirus pandemic, which originated in the Chinese city of Wuhan, grips the nation.
