An art student who once worked at a notorious regional music festival has told police she was smoking methamphetamine because “there weren’t enough hours in the day”.

Amy Forwood, 38, was caught driving under the influence of methamphetamine twice in five days after committing a string of minor traffic infringements.

Forwood was first stopped in Kingsgrove on October 30 last year after police saw her using her mobile phone while driving.

A roadside drug test returned a positive result for cannabis and methamphetamine.

“The accused made admissions to using methamphetamine in order to help her study as she had a major work presentation and graduation upcoming … stating she does not have enough hours in the day,” agreed police facts stated.

“It was stated that the accused smoked the drug, however, declined to state when or where she last consumed or how often.”

Five days later on November 4 police pulled Forwood over when she made an illegal left turn onto Johnstone St in Peakhurst.

She was breath-tested and again returned a positive result.

“The accused’s sample returned a result of positive to methamphetamine,” the agreed police facts stated.

“In relation to the taking of drugs the accused stated “I choose not to say”.”

Forwood also received infringement notices for the illegal left turn and having non-compliant tyres.

Forwood pleaded guilty at Sutherland Local Court to two charges of drug driving and one charge of using a mobile phone while driving.

She will return to court on June 4 after undertaking the Magistrates’ Early Referral Into Treatment program for adult offenders with illicit drug problems.

The Peakhurst woman described herself on social media as a “water baby, moon gazer, dirt dancer, visual artist and bellybutton lint collector” who is “always f**king late”.

Forwood also said she worked at Psyfari, a psychedelic doof that operated in the Lithgow area before they cancelled their 10-year anniversary event earlier this month due to government crackdowns on illegal drug use at festivals.
