Vaughan Hildebrand charged with sexual assault of woman at Bardwell Valley
An ex-police officer has been identified in court after being charged with the sexual assault of a woman in south Sydney in 2008.

A former police officer who allegedly raped a woman 14 years ago has been identified in court.
Vaughan Mark Hildebrand, 34, was charged with sexual intercourse without consent over an alleged incident in Bardwell Valley in 2008.
Strike Force Kain was established in 2021 to investigate the alleged incident, with court documents alleging Hildebrand raped a woman.
Following police inquiries, a court attendance notice was served on Hildebrand at the South Coast Correctional Centre in Nowra on November 8 this year.
Hildebrand was a constable attached to a command within the Central Metropolitan Region, but is no longer employed by NSW Police.
Hildebrand’s case was briefly mentioned in Sutherland Local Court on Tuesday where it was adjourned to January.
