Residents have been told that flood waters may isolate the area so they should take pets, essential items and insurance documents with them.

The Ampol Storage Facility pump failed early in the morning causing fuel and diesel to overflow onto roads causing road closures in Kurnell.

The road closures in Kurnell Township are located around Eloura Road at Greenhills (roundabout) because oil and diesel have mixed in with floodwaters over the roads.

Emergency services are in the area managing the hazardous material and working to prevent further contamination spread.
