A date has been set when lingerie model and ex-NRL WAG will face court to defend allegations she stole more than $50,000 from her medical clinic employer.
Reality TV star-turned-amateur boxer Arabella Del Busso has been charged with two counts of stealing property from an employer following a lengthy investigation by detectives from St George police in Sydney’s south.
Court documents reveal police will allege the now 32-year-old stole $35,785 from Rheumatology Specialist Care in Kogarah – which is now known as Integrated Specialist Medical Care – between September 2019 and February 2020.
Police will further allege Del Busso stole $16,565 from the clinic’s Randwick location over the same period.
Her case was mentioned briefly in Sutherland Local Court on Friday to set a hearing date of February 10 next year.
Del Busso, through a lawyer, previously entered pleas of not guilty to both counts.
She has not attended court for these charges because she lives in Port Melbourne.
It is understood Del Busso then worked as a receptionist for the Integrated Specialist Medical Care’s clinics in Kogarah and Randwick.
On its website, Integrated Specialist Medical Care describes itself as a “team of dedicated specialists specialising in the management of inflammatory joint disorders, neurological conditions and diseases and disorders of the kidneys”.
Del Busso struck fame during her high-profile relationship with former NRL player Josh Reynolds who was then playing for Wests Tigers before he moved to Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs.
Their relationship broke down when Reynolds was charged with allegedly assaulting Del Busso during a domestic incident – but the charges were later dropped in February 2020.
Del Busso became embroiled in scandal when she feigned three miscarriages while dating the NRL star.
In October 2020 Del Busso appeared on the Seven Network’s reality show SAS Australia, in which celebrities are challenged to endure SAS training.
The show, she explained to The Daily Telegraph, was an opportunity to clear the air after recent scandals.
“I feel like Australia pretty much thinks that I am a con artist, a catfish and a psycho,” she said.
“They are the three words, it is just horrible. What have I got to lose?
“In all honesty, I just want Australia to know and see me as the person that I actually am and to prove, not just to everyone but to myself, that no matter what happens in life, I am strong and I am resilient.
“I have got a good heart and it has hurt me because I know that I am far from an evil person. It was just unfortunate that my relationship was in the public eye. I want people to know that I am human and that we all make mistakes.”
Del Busso sensationally walked out of the show after attempting to explain the lies she told Reynolds.
She has since taken up boxing and made her amateur debut in Melbourne earlier this year.
Del Busso is not subject to any bail conditions.
