A man has been charged with supplying a large amount of drugs after steroids were allegedly found inside his Bangor home.
Charles David King, 37, was charged with two counts of supply more than the commercial quantity of prohibited drugs and dealing with proceeds of crime.
King briefly appeared in Sutherland Local Court on Tuesday where he did not apply for bail and it was formally refused.
Sutherland Shire police officers executed a search warrant at King’s house, which is adjacent to a children’s playground, at Bangor on Monday where a large amount of drugs were allegedly seized.
Police will allege King had stockpiled more than 5kg of testosterone and more than 25kg of psilocybin, which is naturally occurring psychedelic prodrug compound produced by more than 200 species of fungi.
Police further allege King had $16,000 in Australian currency which is suspected to be the proceeds of crime.
The court heard King had been charged with domestic violence related offences and appeared before Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday. It is understood King was arrested as part of an investigation into domestic violence allegations before the drugs were allegedly found inside his home.
King’s drug supply charges were adjourned to Downing Centre Local Court on August 24 for the service of the brief of evidence to occur.
The domestic violence charges of intimidation and common assault were adjourned to Wednesday at Sutherland Local Court.
Police remained at the Bangor house on Tuesday while the crime scene was examined.
The investigation is ongoing.
