Caringbah terror arrest: man in custody over alleged pro-Islamic State material
Police from the NSW Joint Counter Terrorism Team have arrested a man in Sydney’s south after an investigation into allegations he was sharing pro-Islamic State material online.

Counterterrorism cops have arrested a man in Sydney’s south following an investigation into allegations he shared extremist views and pro-Islamic State material online.
The NSW JCTT began investigating a man’s online activities following reports he was expressing extremist views in conversations across a number of platforms and sharing pro-Islamic State material.
A 34-year-old man has now been arrested by the Tactical Operations Unit at a unit on the Kingsway in Caringbah just before 8am today.
He was taken to Sutherland police station without further incident and is expected to be charged.
NSW JCTT investigators executed a search warrant at a nearby home following the arrest.
Police say there is no ongoing threat to the community relating to this investigation.
A local resident in a Sutherland Shire community Facebook group said she could see police had a man in handcuffs on the ground from her balcony.
