The woman’s husband was walking down the street when he noticed his wife was arguing with the men, documents said.

The men got into the car before leaving the location.

About half an hour later the couple returned to the laundrette before they heard yelling and screaming out the front of the building, the documents said.

The husband noticed Edwards along with his mate and three other males.

The men yelled at the couple, claiming the woman stole the basket, before the group allegedly started circling the husband.

Two of the men allegedly punched the husband in the head with closed fists, as did Edwards, causing the man immediate pain.

The documents said the group allegedly continued circling the man and a woman nearby began recording the incident.

The husband’s son arrived and attempted to intervene in the alleged altercation before Edwards threw a punch that missed the son, documents said.

The men walked away and got into the car and left.

Police were called to the incident by numerous people with officers arriving a short time later but they could not locate the men.

The husband did not sustain serious injuries but experienced dizziness, pain to the jaw and head and swelling, the documents said.

The next day police went to Edwards home in Riverwood where they saw him inside.

Edwards yelled at the officers before threatening “I will punch you”.

A senior constable, fearing assault, handcuffed Edwards who said, “I’m gonna knock you out”.

He was taken to Kogarah Police Station where he was charged.

One of the other members of the group was also charged but is yet to enter pleas and his case remains before the court.

In court on Tuesday, Edwards’ bail condition to reside at his Riverwood home was changed to instead live at Beverly Hills.

The case was adjourned August 24.
