TATIANA Beaumont’s achievements on the basketball court have earned her a Junior Sports Star nomination, but her determination could take her even further.
The 15-year-old will play in the upcoming national titles for NSW Metro in Townsville and she’s confident her side will be one of the main contenders.
“I think we’ll do really well,” she said.
“We’ve played well in a few practice games so I’m looking forward to it.”
The Emu Heights resident said she had to work on a few parts of her game to make the competitive team, but would one day like to reach an even higher level.
“I’ve improved a lot in the past year, especially with my shooting and dribbling, but I still want to get better,” she said.
Women’s basketball has become extremely competitive in the past 20 years and she knows she’ll have to keep her work ethic going if she’s to make it to the top in one of the big leagues.
“I’d like to go as far as I can in the sport. Either play in the WNBL or go to university or college in America,” she said.
“It would be amazing to play for the Sydney Flames one day.”
