The 25-year-old, who has been with the club since his junior years, said his side is doing its all to avoid being in the mix for the wooden spoon this season.

The Two Blues are currently sitting second last on the ladder ahead of the Penrith Emus, with both sides boasting a 5-0 record.

“We don’t want the wooden spoon. We nearly knocked Souths off and we were close with Manly. The coming games will shape the season for us,” he said.

“We have four or five winnable games ahead.”

While they have failed to make the season decider for numerous years, Jacobson said he has never contemplated jumping ship.

“We are all from different backgrounds, there’s no sense of arrogance and we just play for the love of rugby.”
