There’s a new mantra at Gordon rugby - and it’s working.
“LTF, Last to first, that’s what we say,’’ said Highlanders coach Darren Coleman after the club secured the 2020 Shute Shield minor premiership with a round in hand and then on the weekend added another major piece of silverware to the club’s trophy cabinet by winning the Sir Roden Cutler Shield.

“It’s been 22 years since we have won the club championship,’’ said Gordon coach Darren Coleman.
”It was a really great day for the club.
“Sydney University have won it for the last 16 years and we last won it in 1998.
“It’s really good reinforcement for the club.’’

The Highlanders on Saturday won a thriller with Eastwood in the final round of the regular season to take the Sir Roden Cutler Shield.
They are now preparing to play in their first finals series in 12 years and just two seasons after finishing dead last in the Shute Shield competition.
“And this weekend we are also playing for the Sir Roden Cutler Shield.
“Eastwood took it off Randwick and now we can take it off them.
“We love a challenge.’’

While Gordon confirmed their No. 1 position on the ladder, every position from two to six is still up for grabs.
Eastwood are currently in third place behind Gordon and Norths but share the same 8-3 win/loss record with Eastern Suburbs and Randwick.
