THE Prospect United Club’s under-12 side has gone from zero to hero.
The girls’ soccer team won the league championship and premiership in emphatic style only a year after a horror season in which it struggled to win a match.
Regularly defeated by large scorelines in 2014, the team turned it around miraculously this year to score 68 goals and concede only five from their 23 games.
Captain Elyssa Pearce, 12, said all the players were proud of their achievements.
“Everyone gave it their all this year and it really showed on the pitch,” she said.
“We started the season with a 7-0 win and it really set the tone for the rest of our matches.
“Our coach, Warren Alt, helped us play some really good football.”

It was the first season with the club for the Tyndale Christian School Student Elyssa and her performances earned her selection in the Blacktown Spartans Skills Acquisition Program team.
Amelia Xiberras and Emily Sawell were also picked for the side.
In the grand final a 1-0 win against Minchinbury Jets wrapped up the perfect season.
“It was a great feeling to win a grand final,” Elyssa said.
“We are all really excited about coming back and trying to replicate our feats again next season.”
