LATEST SQUADS
Reigning premiers Manly won’t have it all their own way in the quest for back-to-back titles. With a host of familiar faces and new talent across all 20 teams, the latest edition of Sydney’s premier under-16s competition is bound to be full of surprises.
At Fairfield-Liverpool, Ahan Vinod returns for another season. Last season the gifted keeper showed his class with the bat, knocking up two half centuries and averaging 58 in just four innings.
Plenty of big names have aged out at Hawkesbury, but promising bowler Nygel Shah has an opportunity to fill the void. Took seven wickets last season, and will be better for his time with NSW in the U16 Metro squad.
Speaking of Blues reps, Mosman’s Hugh Taylor and Jagbir Malhi will be out to enhance their reputation. While Noah Quayle will be eager for more performances like the 50 he scored against Sydney last season.
UTS North Sydney are sure to press for a place in the finals. NSW rep Aryian Banker joins fellow academy stars Amodh Sriram and Vivaan Bhosale.
Sutherland were unlucky to miss out at the back-end last year, but with gun bat Lucas Sheehy returning alongside Tom Faulkner, the NSW reps are proof the Shire boys are capable of taking the next step.
Following a slow start, UNSW closed out last year's’ campaign with several strong showings. Neel Patel’s 101 against Sydney was a highlight, and he’ll be even better come December following his two recent centuries for NSW U15s.
Last season Sydney University were well served by Lachlan Russell. The all-rounder returns as skipper, and is joined by Blues rep and Sutherland recruit, Kobi Robinson.
Arnav Yadav is another Uni batter to keep an eye on. His 175 at 29.2 last season could just be the tip of the iceberg.
Rising paceman Kaito Forrest joins the Penrith squad, and the U15 NSW rep could pose plenty of headaches.
