The Seven Hills resident will be a key player for the NSW Waratahs indoor netball team when it competes at the national championships in Adelaide next month.

The Year 7 student at Catherine McAuley Westmead has led the line this season for Blacktown Netball Association’s Under-12s representative side, including star performances at the state age championships in June.

Olivia, playing in the goal attack position, finished the season with an incredible shooting accuracy of 85 per cent.

The 12 year-old said she could not wait to pull on the NSW bib in Adelaide.

“I’m really excited to compete at the nationals,” she said.

Olivia Morales had an 85% shooting percentage during a big season with Blacktown.

“There are some really good players in the team, so to have been picked in the top side is a real honour.”

Olivia’s talents extend beyond the netball court with the former Our Lady of Lourdes, Seven Hills, student earning representative selection in swimming, athletics, cross country and touch football.

“I want to go as far as I can with my netball,” Olivia said.

“I have been picked in Under-13s Blacktown Association representative squad for next season. Hopefully I make the final team list when they name it in early next year.”

Olivia Morales will play alongside fellow Blacktown players Jacinta Kailash and Maddison Diener in the NSW team at the national championships.

Olivia has been nominated for a Junior Sports Star Award. The awards are sponsored by Rebel.
