The 12-year old’s silky skills on the basketball court have earnt him the nickname “Boy Wonder” and have even impressed the man known as “His Airness”, Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan.
A guard for the Sydney Comets, Jordan helped the team to the Junior Metro League title this year, as well as qualification for the junior state and junior national club championships, held in Perth in September.
His 89 points in five games was second-best in the competition.
In 2012, the St Michael’s Blacktown student had the chance to meet his idol when he took part in the Michael Jordan Flight School clinic in California.
Jordan’s aunt Zarina Osiana said her nephew had had a ball in his hand since he was a baby.
“Jordan didn’t like listening to nursery rhymes when he was little. He wanted to watch basketball videos,” she said. “He couldn’t wait until he was old enough to play in a team. “
Jordan has extended his court success to his school team, earning selection to the NSW team to compete at the Pacific School Games in Adelaide this month.
“Everyone in the family is so proud of everything Jordan has achieved,” Ms Osiana said.
