Livestream Australian U15 hockey championships: NSW players to watch

Hockey Livestream: The best young NSW players and ones to watch from the city and country at the U15 Australian hockey championships in Bathurst.

Last year players were in a coronavirus lockdown when the Australian U15 championships were due to be played.

This year some of the brightest young talent in the game head to Bathurst for the U15 Australian hockey championships which start in the NSW town on Friday and is being livestreamed on News Corp sites, including The Daily Telegraph.

With NSW Pathway Manager Richard Willis, we take a look at some of the players expected to be turning heads during the competition

NSW MEDAL BID AT AUSTRALIAN U15 HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIPS

NSW Pathway Manager Richard Willis said there is real excitement among the teams to start playing in Bathurst after the 2020 tournaments were cancelled.

“Our 15s are well prepared. They haven’t been away for 12 months so there is a real air of excitement about going away,” Willis said.

“We are interested in team development over results.

“There is a lot of depth. It’s the start of the hockey nursery. It’s the first taste of next level competition.”

At the 2019 championships NSW boys won the silver medal and the NSW girls a bronze.

“The goal is to be contesting for medals. We played to win,” he said.

NSW is fielding state and development teams at the event.

NSW UNDER 15 GIRLS TO WATCH AT 2021 HOCKEY NATIONALS

Bella Croker: This youngster is an attacking midfielder and a good ball carrier. An exciting young prospect and just 14. Hails from Goulburn.

Lola Dorman: From Northern Districts in North West Sydney. A midfielder with good elimination skills. She reads the game very well.

Lily Kable: A young hockey talent hailing from Bathurst which is hosting the under 15 championship. A really good goal shot and boasts good circle work. A quick and elusive player.

Matilda Woolnough: This young Newcastle player is the defender of the NSW team. Reads to play well and good tackler. Fast and fit.

Grace Jones: Plays in the midfield and hails from Goulburn. Fast and uses her speed for elimination.

Oliver Bestwick: Another player from Bathurst which is hosting the tournament. A striker with good circle work and good in the press.

Toby Collins: This teenager calls Parkes home and is a midfield general. A good defender and leads the play in the outletting.

Nathan Marshall: A talent who hails from Lithgow. Has good out letting skills and is also a good defender for New South Wales.

Jared Findley: this young hockey player has great vision and passing schools and is from North West Sydney.

Oskar Smith: A very athletic and speedy player who has a good presents in the circle. From Sydney East.
