Some people are blessed with natural talent, and it seems Emily Curtain is one of them.

Curtain has tried her hand at almost every sport available to her and has been successful in all.

The young athlete is the Macarthur Chronicle’s rebel Junior Sports Star nominee for this week.

The 12-year-old competes in muay thai, rugby league, athletics, touch football, netball, cross country running and Oztag.

Among some of Curtain’s accomplishments are winning a silver medal at the Australian junior muay thai championships last year, qualifying for state cross country for the past two years, making the rugby league grand final in 2013 and being selected to play in the all-girls rugby league competition, and making the Sydney south west PSSA touch football team.

Curtain said she wanted to follow her brother and twin sister into playing rugby league.

My brother and twin sister played and I decided to give it a go as well,” she said.

“I have loved it ever since.”

The Blair Athol muay thai fighter looks up to Caley Reece, who is a multiple world and Australian champion, and rugby league player Emily Andrews who played for the Australian Jillaroos at the 2013 women’s World Cup.

“I would like to win the gold medal this year at the Australian junior muay thai championships so I can represent Australia at the world championships next year,” Curtain said.

“I would also love to be selected for the Australian Jillaroos (women’s rugby league team) one day.”
