You just never know where the next star of the BBL will come from.
But it’s a good bet they will have started their cricket journey at one of a Cricket Blast holiday camp.
Sydney kids will be able to learn how to play like their heroes from the Sydney Sixers and Sydney Thunder this month at a series of holiday cricket programs.“The Sixers and Thunder Holiday Programs are an awesome way for kids to have a great time learning the basics of cricket or improving the skills they already have,” said Sydney Sixers captain Daniel Hughes.
“The coaches are experienced and make sure that everyone gets a go and has a heap of fun in a safe environment.
“Hopefully we might find a few future Sixers and Thunder stars at the camps around the state.”
The Sixers and Thunder community cricket teams will host programs across Sydney at a variety of venues during the school holidays.
The sessions are for entry level cricket programs with young players developing their batting, bowling and fielding skills under the tutelage of qualified community cricket coaches in a COVID-safe and fun-filled environment.
Some of the sessions are mixed and some are girls only.
Cricket is booming for girls with our Southern Stars one of the most successful teams in Australia.
All cricket equipment is provided by Cricket NSW and each participant will receive a Cricket Blast Pack with a ball, activity booklet, water bottle and drawstring bag.
To register for any of the programs, simply go to www.playcricket.com.au and add your gender, age and postcode to the search bar.
