BATTING
With only 15 runs between them, the race to the top was a cracker. Hornsby’s Lachlan Gleave (C4 grade) won out with 616 runs at 61.6, but it was a near thing with Angus Stevenson (D grade) from St Ives Wahroonga a few big hits behind on 601 at 75.13.
In a brilliant season, Stevenson scored three tons in just nine innings – the most centuries by any player across all grades. While Gleave walked away with the highest score, following his 152 against Asquith Rugby League.
In the top grade, Jackson Preedy was the runaway winner with 337 runs at 48.14. In nine innings, the West Pennant Hills Cherrybrook No.3 hit four fifties.
Two players hit five half centuries. Berowra’s Liahm Williams (A Reserve grade) ranked fifth for runs with 476 at 43.27, while Ben Elliott’s (C grade) 394 at 65.67 for Thornleigh ranked 17th.
BOWLING
Rahul Kamboj was best with the ball. The Hornsby A-grader took 39 wicket from just 10 matches, and finished one clear of Kenthurst Upper Hills’ Robert Stuart (A Reserve grade) who took 38 at 8.11.
One of three players to take eight wickets in an innings, Andrew Upton’s 8-19 in C4 for Thornleigh was the best return of the season.
Special mention goes to Alex Howard in C3. In 11 matches, the Kenthurst Upper Hills bowler finished with 20 wickets at an eye-watering 4.95 runs per wicket, including one spell of 6-7 against Hornsby.
