BROCK Eyre-Nixon's baseball skills are taking him to Japan.
The Shalvey resident has been selected to represent NSW later this year.
"I was excited, happy, proud, nervous," he said of being selected for the team.
Brock, 11, has played baseball since he was four and said he loved many aspects of the game. "It's strategic and there are skills," he said.
In his third season playing for Blacktown Workers, Brock said he increased his training from two nights to three a week, in preparation for his trip to Japan.
"I usually train Tuesday and Thursday and I'm now training on Monday nights."
Last week he played in the Sydney West PSSA District Boys Softball Championships representing St Marys Public School. He said he would like to play for Australia when he is older.
