More NSW athletes punched tickets to the world juniors, a teen took out a special double and another won a second gold with a broken toe at the Australian track and field titles.

One has googled Colombia but the other doesn’t know much about the country at all but Hayley Kitching and Charlie Jeffreson are hoping it will be a happy hunting ground for them after qualifying for the world junior championships there later this year.,
The pair, along with Sydney twin Bella Guthrie, were on Tuesday the latest NSW athletes to qualify onto the team competing in Colombia with a win in their events at the Australian athletics track and field championships in Sydney.

HAYLEY KITCHING ‘SUPER STOKED' TO MAKE WORLD JUNIOR TEAM
There were few people with a bigger smile at the championship on a wet Tuesday than Hayley Kitching.
The Coffs Harbour teenager won the 800m U20 race with a blinding run which booked her on the plane to Colombia in August.
“I’m super stoked with that,’’ Kitching said.
“I knew I was in top form coming into this but I was still a little nervous.'’

CHARLIE JEFFRESON REALISES A DREAM
Inspired by time spent racing Olympian Peter Bol in the lead-up to the Australian championships, Sydney teenager Charlie Jeffreson won the under 20 800m race to secure his spot at the world juniors.
Australia’s best junior 800m runner at just 17, the Hunters Hill teenager was favoured to win Tuesday’s crucial final with a team selection a dream come true.
“My goal was to win and I feel great,’’ he said.
Jeffreson said he has been motivated by racing against Bol this season and has learned valuable lessons.
“Just being around someone like Peter Bol is a surreal feeling,’’ he said.

ISABELLA GUTHRIE JOINS TWIN ON TEAM TO RACE AT WORLD TITLES
She was favourite but Sydney speedster Bella Guthrie said she still breathed a sigh of relief when she won the U20 400m hurdles on Tuesday to join twin Jasmin on the team to compete at the world juniors.
“It wasn’t me best. I knocked the hurdles a few times with my knee,’’ she said.
“But I’m very excited to get the win.’’
Jasmin qualified for the world in the 400m.

TEEN DANIEL WILLIAMS TAKES ‘DREAM’ DOUBLE AT AUSSIES
He’s only 13 but Daniel Williams stands head and shoulders above his rivals physically . He does the same with his performances.
The Coffs Harbour young gun, who trains with Hailey Kitching who made the world junior team on Tuesday, won the 800m U15 crown to go with the 1500m title he won earlier in the meet.
But his latest success was a big shot to the youngster.
“Dreams really do come true,’’ he said.
“I almost didn’t even make the final. I was fourth in my heat and it didn’t help my confidence.
“Six months ago I would never have seen myself making a national final let aloge winning the double.’’
Williams said working with Kitching had seem him improve at a rapid rate.
“That’s really helped me a lot,’’ he said.
“I’m just so happy, I really am.’’
MATILDA HARRISON WINS FIRST AUSSIE CROWN
She has hoped for success but Matilda Harrison said winning the U14 200m Australian crown was still a bit of a surprise.
“It’s the first time I have won at a nationals,’’ said the 13-year-old from Roseville.

SECOND GOLD FOR TAMMIN LAMPRET
Caringbah athletes Tammin Lampret ran back into the winners circle on Tuesday despite still feeling the effects form time off with a broken toe.
The young gun won the U15 200m hurdles for her second Australian titles.

Other big results on Tuesday included Connor Bond’s third in the U20 200m won by Queenslander Caleb Law in 20.63 and Olivia Rose Inkster’s bronze in the women’s equivalent won by Torrie Lewis from Queensland in 23.46.
KATIE GUNN JUMPING FOR JOY AFTER AUSSIE TITLE WIN
Central Coast athlete Katie Gunn has also jumped aboard the Australian team for the world under 20 championships.
The favourite for the Australian junior long jump crown lived up to expectations With her win in the event at Sydney Olympic Park.
Gunn started big with a mighty leap of six metres and then pushed further to 6.09m on her second attempt.
Gunn beat Victorian Alessia Wynne for the national crown.
