APARTMENT king Harry Triguboff has revealed he has plenty more projects in the pipeline.

The 85-year-old Meriton managing director said he had no plans to slow down as he opened the Pagewood Green development last week. In a wideranging interview he told the Southern Courier:

He plans to build 12-storey towers on his newly acquired land in Little Bay.

His offer to help the government fund light rail was still on the table.

There is still plenty more room to build in Mascot.

Mr Triguboff also dismissed claims the 2233-unit Pagewood Green was a gross overdevelopment.

“They all say it is an overdevelopment,” he said. “But there must be authority. If the authorities say this is right then it’s right.

“People will all the time complain. Not only I but all the people that buy here, they are very happy too.

“And they pay. Never mind people who talk and don’t pay.”

Mr Triguboff said his offer to help pay for the light rail extension to Pagewood Green was still on the table.

There are also fears the transport network will be unable to cope with the influx of people to Pagewood.

“It’s not a big problem because as you know there is not much traffic. I don’t think there is any problem.”

In 2016 he offered the then Baird government to help pay for the extension of light rail to Pagewood Green.

“The offer is still on the table, but I don’t hear anything from them. As long as I’m still around, it is available.”

Australia’s richest man also spoke of his plans for the 11ha Little Bay Cove site which he bought for $245 million last year.

It has master plan approval for nearly 600 homes including town houses and low-rise apartments. Mr Triguboff said he wanted to add height to the project.

“I believe it has got beautiful views so I say that some of the buildings should be taller to see the views, about 12 storeys,” he said.

“And I believe there should be more town houses. I’m not trying to get more units there or more development.

“I’m happy with the number of units there ... I think I try to get taller buildings and more town houses.”

Asked if he was still motivated at 85 , he said: “Of course. We build everywhere. We build a lot in Mascot, Zetland and Alexandria ... they are very attractive places where people can afford to buy.”

Mr Triguboff said there was more room to build in Mascot.
