A TikTok star has been told “you’re not welcome” at one of the eastern suburbs’ most well-known venues in what appears to be a case of mistaken identity.

Jon-Bernard Kairouz – famous for his Covid case predictions – posted a TikTok of an interaction between his brother Nicholas and security from the Coogee Pavilion.

Mr Kairouz has previously spoken out on TikTok about being banned from the venue.

The new video captioned ‘Another Kairouz BANNED from Coogee Pav’ shows Nicholas attempting to explain to security he wasn’t his brother, saying “we do look alike, but we’re not identical”.

It prompts security to reply “it doesn’t matter, both of you banned man”.

Nicholas then asks security if he’s done anything wrong, however security say “we don’t have to give a reason”.

Another staff member then arrives, telling Nicholas he knows who he is.

“I don’t think you know who I am, you know who my brother is,” Nicholas said.

The staff member replied: “We know who you both are”.

Despite Nicholas pleading for his ID to “at least” be checked, the staff member said “you’re not welcome here”.

A few moments later he says “we don’t want you here … we pick and choose who comes in here”.

The video comes following a series of videos posted by Mr Kairouz on his social media pages, comparing the Coogee Pavilion to other venues across Australia.

Having garnered just less than 484k followers on TikTok and 105k on Instagram, Mr Kairouz rose to fame during the pandemic, correctly guessing Covid case numbers before each morning press conference.

He then attended a Sydney lockdown protest and pleaded guilty to two counts of not complying with a Covid-19 notice or direction and was found guilty of encouraging the commission of crime.

He was spared conviction in November last year. An appeal has been made and remains before the courts.

Coogee Pavilion have been contacted for comment.
