Cricket Australia releases damning cultural review report

Centuries from Dave Warner and Soumill Chhibber put Randwick Petersham first grade in the box seat in their two-day contest against Western Suburbs.

Warner (157) and Chhibber (108) starred as they amassed 6/316 at the end of the first day, leaving Western Suburbs with an uphill task ahead of day two at the weekend.

Randy Petes second grade also face a tough task chasing 279 at Coogee Oval next weekend after losing two wickets late in the day.

James Mahoney-Brack was the pick of the bowlers with four wickets to restrict Wests to under 300.

Third grade were bowled out for 129 in their first innings. But a stellar performance from skipper Nigil Singh (6/22 off 17) meant that the Randy Petes have a first-innings lead of 52 runs after bowling Wests out for 77.

Singh was well supported by Jack Standing (3/17 off 8) and the side will look for an outright victory next weekend.

Fourth grade put in an outstanding display as Luke Radford, Tom McKenzie and Mitch O’Loughlin tore through Wests batting line-up to bowl them out for just 86 runs.

But they were let down by a poor batting display and bowled out for 77 runs in reply.

Fifth grade bowled Wests out for 187 as Dane Coombs (4/41 off 14) starred with the ball. They are 2/12 in reply ahead of next weekend.

David Warner briefly left the field mid-innings after he was allegedly sledged by Phillip Hughes’s brother. Warner was fielding when Hughes was hit by a short ball and died in 2014. He also gave evidence at his inquest. Warner’s wife Candice said her husband was subject to “abuse” from Jason Hughes on Saturday. Wests deny the exchange had anything to do with Philip Hughes.
