THE $10 million park at the centre of Meriton’s Pagewood Green development has been approved.
The 8000 sqm of green space will be named Central Park and will feature a children’s playground, exercise equipment, basketball court ana barbecue area.
Pagewood Green is being built in stages and when complete will have more than 2200 units in towers up to 20 storeys.
Central Park was one of three communal spaces approved by the Bayside Planning Panel last week along with an area called Civic Plaza and the long and narrow Linear Park.
Plans indicate the plaza will feature alfresco dining and tree-lined streets, shaded seating areas and space for public art.
Linear Park will be towards the northwest of Pagewood Green and will be filled with trees and shrubs which provide pockets of smaller social spaces. There are also plans to incorporate a community-run garden/vegetable patch in the park.
But the development’s main green space will be Central Park. At the centre is a huge lawn with trees around the perimeter.
