Kensington: Bus crash near UNSW, woman in serious condition

Two buses, both carrying passengers, have crashed in Kensington resulting in at least three people injured. One young woman is in a serious condition after she was knocked unconscious.

A young woman was knocked unconscious during a head-on crash involving two buses in Kensington and is in a serious condition.

The crash happened amid heavy rainfall about 4.15pm today at the intersection of Anzac Parade and High St in Kensington, near UNSW.

Emergency services were called to the scene including nine ambulance crews and police.

A NSW Ambulance spokeswoman said there were about 10 passengers on each bus and the crash was a head-on.

She said, according to early reports, three people were injured.

That included a 25-year-old woman who was knocked unconscious and was in a serious condition with a head injury.

The driver of one of the buses suffered a leg injury but was not in a serious condition.

A NSW Police spokeswoman said the light rail has been suspended.

Traffic is heavy in the area.
