A Brazilian national has been arrested in Sydney’s east over fraud offences linked to an ongoing investigation targeting drug suppliers in the inner city.

A Brazilian national has been arrested in Sydney’s east over fraud offences linked to an ongoing investigation targeting drug suppliers in the inner city.

Julie Gessica Da Souza, 26, was arrested on Thursday morning at a unit complex in Coogee – making her the latest in a series of arrests by Strike Force Petal.

She has been charged with two counts of dishonestly obtain financial advantage by deception, two counts of deal with property proceeds of crime, two counts of supply prohibited drug, and breach of bail.

The glamorous South American, whose social media consists of a series of bikini-clad shots accompanied by inspirational quotes, was refused bail today at Waverley Local Court.

Police will allege in court that the waitress was being paid to take responsibility for other driver’s demerit points and driving penalty notices between May and September 2019.

In December 2018, officers from South Sydney police formed the strike force to investigate the supply of illicit drugs including heroin and ice in the Redfern area.

The ongoing investigation has now led to more than 40 people being charged with various offences.

During the course of Strike Force Petal’s investigations, officers became aware of fraud offences allegedly committed by Da Souza.

After being arrested and taken to Mascot Police Station on Thursday morning, she appeared before Magistrate Allison Hawkins at Waverley Local Court.

She did not enter a plea on her seven charges and her bail was refused.

Ms Da Souza’s matter will be mentioned again on February 20.
