A LUXURY hotel and new headquarters for the NSW Nurses and Midwives union are planned as part of a 11-storey development.
A development application has been submitted for land at 342 King St, Mascot on March 19. Property developers Savelle is behind the development. It includes seven storeys of office space, a 4.5 star hotel, 108-seat restaurant and car park with 1167 spaces. If granted, the plan will be in addition to a budget 800-space car park, Park on King, which opened at the site earlier this month.
Although the latest DA was only submitted days ago the NSW Nurses and Midwives’ Association has committed to 9000 sqm of the office space. The association’s area will span four levels and include a 500-seat auditorium and classrooms.
The hotel will have 187 rooms. The hotel is described as being 4.5 star, and will have “upper-class quality accommodation”.
There is no indication of who will take on the restaurant space.
Surry Hills based Vanovac Tuon Architects said the block would contribute to the “visual character of the area” and provide local jobs.
“The high-quality design of this development and due consideration given to its context and operation will result in this development being consistent with, and exceeding, the expectations of the community,” the architect firm said.
